Cabo Verde and Morocco to begin co-operation on training in the next judicial year

Praia, May 22 (Inforpress) - The Attorney General's Office announced today the signing in Rabat of a memorandum of understanding with its Moroccan counterpart aimed at strengthening judicial and institutional cooperation through training courses starting next year.

'What was agreed upon was that we will send a delegation of magistrates, in certain areas, starting with the magistrates of the central department, for training and a study visit to get to know the Moroccan judicial system from the inside and to see the specialised issues they work on,' said Attorney General José Landim at a press conference in Praia.

Landim emphasised, however, the budgetary constraints that can affect bailiffs' trips abroad, as they can be costly.

However, in order to support this type of co-operation, José Landim said that the host country, Morocco, will pay for accommodation and meals, while Cabo Verde will pay for travel tickets and subsistence allowances.
