Cabo Verde and Gambia strengthen economic cooperation with a protocol between chambers of commerce.

Praia, August 21 (Inforpress) – The Sotavento Chamber of Commerce and the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a protocol this Thursday aimed at strengthening institutional and business relations, opening new opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.

According to the president of the Sotavento Chamber of Commerce (CCS), Marcos Rodrigues, the signing of the protocol took place within the framework of an exploratory mission by a Gambian delegation to Cabo Verde, which allowed for the identification of cooperation opportunities, but also some constraints that still hinder the deepening of economic relations between the two markets.

For Marcos Rodrigues, the protocol is of "vital" importance to relations between Cabo Verde and Gambia, especially at a time when the CCS has been strengthening its economic presence in the region of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

“The Gambia has enormous significance for Cabo Verde,” said Marcos Rodrigues, highlighting, in particular, the Gambian demand for aggregates from Cabo Verde.
