Praia, May 20 (Inforpress) – The president of the Sotavento Chamber of Commerce (CCS) said today that he expects the new Government to prioritise structural sectors such as transport, vocational training and energy transition.

Marcos Rodrigues, speaking to Inforpress about the organisation’s expectations regarding the administration resulting from the May 17 elections, argued that the country’s economic future depends on deep reforms in transport, energy, youth talent retention and poverty reduction.

The CCS president identified the transport sector as the “top priority”, stressing that, for the business community, domestic connectivity is of “vital importance” in bringing people closer together and boosting business activity.

Regarding the promise to fix domestic airline ticket prices at 5,000 escudos, Marcos Rodrigues assured that the measure is entirely feasible through a financial reorganisation of the State.
