Praia, May 23 (Inforpress) – The Banjul Agreement Group (BAG) approved this Thursday, in Abuja, Nigeria, during the 4th Meeting of the Council of Ministers, “important instruments” that will reinforce the functioning and responses to the current challenges faced by the organization.

Created in 2004, the Banjul Agreement Group brings together civil aviation authorities from Cabo Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Conakry, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, and its mission is to promote best practices and the harmonization of policies in the civil aviation sector in the region.

According to a press release from the Government, this was the first time since the creation of the BAG that ministers from five countries in the group were able to bring together, a fact that was congratulated by the participants.

“The ministers signed documents highlighting the issue of the new structure of BAGAIA (responsible for investigating air accidents in the region), making it more efficient, harmonizing it with that of BAGASOO, which was also reinforced with new forms of financing to reinforce, for example, accident investigation and strategic plans”, stressed.
