Praia, May 15 (Inforpress) – The Association of Family Members and Friends of Deaf Persons of Cabo Verde (AFAS-CV) presented today in Praia a mapping report revealing situations of social isolation and invisibility faced by deaf people within their own families.

The statements were made to Inforpress by the association’s president, Ângela Lopes, on the sidelines of a march held in Achada Santo António, which culminated in the presentation of the report during a roundtable session at the National Assembly, as part of the International Day of Families.

According to the AFAS-CV president, the study made it possible to identify where deaf persons are located, the family contexts in which they live, their needs and also the potential that can be developed.
