Jorge Carlos Fonseca establishes contacts in Switzerland for partnerships with “Liberty and Democracy Initiative”

Geneva, Switzerland, May 13 (Inforpress) – Former President of the Republic of Cabo Verde Jorge Carlos Fonseca announced on Tuesday in Geneva that he held meetings with officials from international organisations aimed at establishing future partnerships with his “Liberty and Democracy Initiative”.

According to Jorge Carlos Fonseca, who made the announcement on his social media page, during his stay in Switzerland he met with the executive director of the Kofi Annan Foundation, Corinne Momal-Vanian, an institution dedicated to promoting democratic societies, peace and resilience.

The former Cabo Verdean head of State also met with Biro Diawara, secretary-general of Interfaith International, a non-governmental organisation linked to the defence and promotion of human rights, holding special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and observer member status at the African Union.

According to Jorge Carlos Fonseca, the contacts made it possible “to create the conditions for future partnerships and collaboration” between those institutions and his “Liberty and Democracy Initiative”.
