Porto Novo: ‘We Love Martiene’ solidarity group marks a decade serving communities – official

Porto Novo, Apr 22 (Inforpress) – The solidarity group ‘We Love Martiene’, in the municipality of Porto Novo, has spent a decade carrying out continuous social support work in several localities across the country, the group’s president, França Costa, said today.

In addition to Santo Antão, the group, created in 2016, has been carrying out activities on the islands of São Vicente, São Nicolau and Boa Vista, focusing on education, housing and assistance to vulnerable families.

The group’s president said the organization was created with the aim of helping the community of Martiene, in the interior of Porto Novo, especially the most disadvantaged, but over time expanded its activities to other localities and islands.

Throughout its existence, the association has carried out several initiatives, including painting schools, kindergartens and houses of low-income families, and has also renovated the fountain in Martiene, including the construction of two bathrooms.
