São Nicolau/Legislative Elections 2026: PAICV presents list focused on solving transport issues

Ribeira Brava, Apr 21 (Inforpress) – The African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV) presented on Monday night, the 20th, its candidate list for the São Nicolau electoral constituency, in the presence of the party president, Francisco Carvalho.

During the event, the PAICV leader argued that the country needs a new governance approach capable of delivering concrete responses in areas such as employment, health, transport and regional development.

According to Francisco Carvalho, the island of São Nicolau remains “abandoned and marginalized”, pointing out difficulties in accessing healthcare, forcing many patients to travel to other islands in search of treatment.

The leader also highlighted the lack of employment opportunities, especially in rural areas, where, he said, there has been “a significant reduction” in jobs in recent years.
