Praia, Apr 16 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Health today refuted the claims made by the seven sector unions and assured that it is “strictly complying with the agreement signed in March 2025” regarding the structural reform of health professional careers in Cabo Verde.

On Wednesday, the 15th, health sector professionals stated that they are “not satisfied” with the timetable announced by the Government for resolving outstanding issues and will maintain the strike notice scheduled for April 28, 29 and 30.

In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, dialogue and the recognition of all professional categories, stressing that the agreement reached with the unions also involved the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Public Administration.

The agreement, the same source added, provided for the revision of medical and nursing careers, the creation of special career paths for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians and Health Assistants, the approval of the Job, Functions and Remuneration Plan (PCFR) for INSP staff, the allocation of a monthly risk allowance of 13,000 escudos to four professional categories, and the payment of backdated amounts effective from March 1, 2025.
