New headquarters of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee symbolizes innovation and a new phase for national sport – president

Praia, Apr 15 (Inforpress) – The president of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee (COC), Filomena Fortes, stated on Tuesday that the institution’s new headquarters, inaugurated in the capital, symbolizes a new phase based on innovation, sustainability and the strengthening of the role of sport in the country’s development.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, Filomena Fortes stressed that the building represents the realization of an ambitious and distinctive project in the African context, as it was designed as a 100 percent (%) sustainable space.

“The future is no longer the future, it is the present. It is a dream that has become reality,” said the leader, explaining that the infrastructure incorporates water efficiency solutions, renewable energy and recycled materials.

Filomena Fortes emphasized that the project aims to serve as an example on the African continent, demonstrating that it is possible to develop quality infrastructure with limited resources.
