Praia, April 13 (Inforpress) – The Continuity project, an initiative of the Cape Verdean American Medical Society (CVAMS), based in the United States, is in Cabo Verde to strengthen the health sector with cutting-edge technology.
Led by surgeon Júlio Tavares, the project, which has already been operating in the country for six years, focuses on sending medical teams and advanced equipment to critical areas where the local health system has the greatest deficiencies, namely Oncology and Cardiology.
“For six years, the Cape Verdean American Medical Society has been bringing specialized teams and Artificial Intelligence technology to combat the main causes of death in the archipelago. Cardiology is one of the absolute priorities,” CVAMS president Júlio Tavares told Inforpress.
The same source indicated that the current focus is on the early identification of rheumatic diseases in children to prevent serious cardiovascular complications in adulthood.
