Futsal: Cabo Verde defeats Libya (4-2) in international tournament in Morocco

Praia , April 13 (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean futsal team defeated Libya 4-2 on Sunday, April 12, in a match played at the Salle Mawlay Al-Hassan Volcon Pavilion in Berkane (Morocco), on the third and final day of the triangular tournament.

Cabo Verde started by winning 1-0, the Libyans turned the score around (1-2), but the Blue Sharks restored parity at 2-2, so the winner had to be found in extra time, a period in which Cabo Verde scored two goals (4-2) with which they closed the game.

Cabo Verde’s coach, Manolo Pagani, praised the quality of football played by his team against Libya, considered one of the strongest teams in Africa and accustomed to major competitions.

This was the second and final game for the Blue Sharks, as the Cape Verdean national team is known, in this tournament promoted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, since in their debut the Cape Verdean team had suffered a heavy 1-7 defeat against the hosts, Morocco.
