Praia, April 8 (Inforpress) – The parliamentary leader of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) today considered the issue of his party's absolute majority to be "a non-issue" in the context of the rejection of the parliamentary agenda, and attributed the impasse to the PAICV.
In statements to the press, the official stated that the parliament, composed of 72 deputies, requires prior consensus, noting that the agenda is defined in the conference of representatives before being taken to the plenary session.
Celso Ribeiro made these remarks when approached by the press about the suspension of the last plenary session of this legislature due to a lack of quorum.
The MpD holds an absolute majority in parliament, but many of its deputies did not attend this session, so the president called for a new one this Thursday, the 9th.
