Capoeira: Cabo Verde wins gold medal and prominent positions at the European Games in Lisbon

Espargos, April 7 (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean capoeira team distinguished itself at the 27th edition of the European and Euro-Brazilian Games of the Abadá-Capoeira school, held in Lisbon, by winning a gold medal, a silver medal and a fourth place in the women's sector.

According to a note sent to Inforpress by instructor Nailton da Luz, the event, which brought together the world's best athletes in the sport, took place from April 2nd to 6th under the technical supervision of Mestre Camisa, founder of the Abadá-Capoeira school, and included the participation of representatives from more than 70 countries.

In the women's sector, the biggest highlight was for the athletes from Boa Vista Island, Florzinha (Mayra Duarte) retained her title by winning first place in Category E (orange to orange-blue rope), while her teammate Flor (Josyenne Duarte) secured second place in the same category.

The athlete Trancinha, whose real name is Bruna Varela, achieved fourth place in Category D, blue to blue-green belt.
