Obituary/São Vicente: Sportsman and cultural figure Baick to be buried on Wednesday at Mindelo Cemetery

Mindelo, April 7 (Inforpress) – The funeral of António Gomes Ramos, known as “Baick”, 83 years old, will take place on Wednesday, April 8, at the Mindelo Cemetery, marking the farewell to a figure considered indispensable to sports and cinema in São Vicente.

Baick passed away on Monday afternoon, the 6th, after feeling unwell in a public place. He was transported by ambulance to the Baptista de Sousa Hospital, where, according to reports, he arrived already deceased.

Since then, messages of condolence from Cape Verdeans, both in the country and in the diaspora, have multiplied on social media, remembering him as a charismatic and much-loved figure on the island.

Passionate about Sporting Clube de Portugal, Baick became known for proudly displaying the colors of his beloved club, frequently wearing its uniform.
