The training course is aimed at professionals working in hotels, restaurants and bars on the island of Fogo and will take place at the Institute of Employment and Professional Training in the city of São Filipe.

According to a press release from ITCV, Fogo Island is the second island in the country to receive this training, after Sal Island, and it is part of actions to strengthen food security in the tourism sector.

ITCV states that food security is a strategic responsibility for Cape Verde as a tourist destination, and that food quality and safety are important factors in the country's international positioning.
