CNE dismisses UCID's complaint against TVA program for alleged exclusion of candidates

Praia, 3 April (Inforpress) – The National Electoral Commission (CNE) has dismissed the complaint lodged by UCID against TVA regarding the alleged exclusion of candidates from the programme “Panorama Global”, on the grounds that the case had become “superfluous” due to lack of subject matter.

In a statement published on Thursday 2nd, the CNE explained that the decision was taken following a plenary meeting held on 27 March, attended by representatives of the political parties and their advisers, to examine this matter.

According to the same source, an analysis of the evidence in this case led to the conclusion that Televisão África (TVA), during the cross-examination, clarified that it had invited all political parties represented in parliament to take part in the programme episode dedicated to the topic “Parliamentary and Presidential Elections in Cabo Verde”.

According to the CNE, TVA also indicated that the promotional poster initially released did not correspond to the final lineup of the program, having been produced before the confirmation of all participants.
