Praia, April 3 (Inforpress) - The celebration of Easter is a time to open our hearts to the "good news" and spiritual transformation, because, more than hearing words, the essential thing is to live them intensely in daily life, said Father Constantina Bento today.
Speaking to Inforpress as part of the Holy Week celebrations and on the significance of the date for the Catholic Church, the priest explained that Easter is “a major festival” for the Church and is celebrated over several days, with particular emphasis on the Easter Triduum, which culminates on Easter Sunday.
According to the priest, this central period of the Christian faith begins on the afternoon of Holy Thursday, with the celebration of the institution of the Eucharist, considered one of the pillars of Christian life.
Good Friday follows, marked by contemplation of the death of Jesus Christ, and ends with the celebration of his Resurrection at the Easter Vigil, between Saturday and Sunday.
