Praia, April 2 (Inforpress) – The increase in fuel prices is expected to have a direct impact on the costs of fishing activity and may be reflected in the price of fish, admitted today the president of the Praia Fishing Vessel Owners Association (AACPP).

In an interview with Inforpress, Samora Barros explained that the rise in fuel prices immediately influences the expenses of fishing operations, and, consequently, can affect the price of fish.

According to him, it is a direct relationship between operating costs and profit margin, acknowledging that the sector may be forced to adjust prices.

The president of the association also pointed out that there are mechanisms that can be used to mitigate the effects of rising fuel prices, and that these play a significant role in public policies aimed at the sector.
