City of Praia, 26 Mar (Inforpress) – The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Janine Lélis, today accused PAICV of promoting a narrative of “panic and collapse” for electoral gains, rejecting criticism regarding governance and assuring that there is no risk of gas shortage in the country.
In response to the political statement of the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV – opposition) and to interventions by MPs during the general questions period, the minister considered that the opposition has been creating a climate of fear among the population.
“The idea of panic, collapse, and instilling fear in people has already been repeatedly conveyed in the media,” she stated, adding that this is “a narrative formulated by PAICV with the aim of achieving favorable electoral results.”
The minister also criticized interventions by MPs from the largest opposition party regarding gas supply in Cabo Verde, accusing them of “distorting information and ignoring official data.”
