Praia, Mar 24 (Inforpress) – The leader of the parliamentary group of the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV) today accused the Government of engaging in “political management” by using INPS funds as an “off-budget resource” to attempt to resolve governmental problems.
During a press conference reviewing the parliamentary sessions ahead of the plenary session starting this Wednesday, the 25th, Clóvis Silva announced that the highlight will be the debate on foreign and domestic policy issues related to the sustainability of social security, a topic proposed by the PAICV.
According to him, the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, will not attend this session, by choice of the Movement for Democracy, a moment he considers “historic,” as from the party’s perspective this will be the last plenary session of this legislature.
“We have a Government that does everything to avoid coming to Parliament; it is a way to avoid wear and tear during a sensitive period, with many unresolved issues, such as the butane gas situation and transport issues. Ultimately, it wants to avoid answering these questions,” he stated.
