City of Praia, 17 Mar (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde today launched the Sikabadu Onboarding programme, a strategic initiative aimed at mobilising the diaspora to invest, create and expand digital businesses in the country and strengthen the digital ecosystem.

Speaking to the press, the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, explained that the programme marks the closing of Digital Week, following a tour across several islands of the country, including Brava, Fogo, Maio, São Vicente and Santiago.

This year, the strategy was extended to the diaspora, bringing Cape Verdean entrepreneurs residing abroad to gain first-hand knowledge of the technological infrastructures available in the country, such as the Cabo Verde Technology Park.

“We will show them the tax incentives available for establishing themselves here in the Technology Park so that this major Government investment benefits all Cape Verdeans,” he explained, assuring that Cabo Verde currently has quality infrastructure and connectivity capable of supporting the development of digital businesses.
