Eurico Monteiro advocates greater participation of civil society in the preparation of the III National Action Plan

Praia City, Feb 26 (Inforpress) – The Minister of State Modernization and Public Administration, Eurico Monteiro, today advocated strengthening the participation of civil society in the preparation of the National Action Plan, which must reflect people’s concerns.

The government official was speaking to the press after presiding over the opening of the VII Ordinary Meeting of the OGP National Multisectoral Forum, held in Praia, a meeting that marked the preparatory stage for the drafting of the III National Action Plan for Open Government.

According to Eurico Monteiro, this is the moment for institutional reform, with the objective of giving greater weight to civil society, academia and other national representations in the decision-making process.

“In other words, we want more representation, more plurality, so that the forum is truly representative of the country and not only of the State or the Government,” he explained, stressing that the second plan was a success and that the path towards the third should continue.
