Praia, Feb 17 (Inforpress) – Vendors today described the 11th edition of the Ash Wednesday Fair, held at Sucupira Square, as “very positive”, with a strong influx of buyers seeking fresh products for the traditional Ash Wednesday lunch, on Wednesday, the 18th.
During a tour conducted by Inforpress at the venue, traders expressed satisfaction with the sales volume recorded on the second day of the fair, which coincides with Carnival celebrations, a factor contributing to increased public attendance.
Dried fish stalls were among the busiest, as this is one of the most sought-after products during this period.
“Today is going well, there are many people shopping for family meals,” said Deolinda Mendes, noting that demand this year is higher compared to last year, when the product was scarce on the market.
