Praia, Feb 16 (Inforpress) – President José Maria Neves said Saturday in Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the 39th African Union Summit, that there is nothing irreparable in relations between the CPLP and Guinea-Bissau.
According to the Presidency, the Head of State highlighted the role of ECOWAS in mediation efforts and the CPLP’s participation in the process, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy are essential to restoring constitutional order, peace and development in the country.
He also “fully agreed” with Angolan President João Lourenço’s statement that “it is not enough to legitimise coups d’état through elections,” reinforcing that diplomacy must be conducted in appropriate forums and with seriousness to ensure lasting solutions to Africa’s political challenges.
During his visit to Addis Ababa, the Cape Verdean Head of State and the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Sidi Ould Tah, also reaffirmed strategic cooperation and development financing.
