Praia City, Feb 03 (Inforpress) – The Government has created the National Monitoring Commission for the “Early Warning for All” (EW4ALL) initiative, aimed at strengthening prevention and response to natural disasters and extreme climate events.

According to Resolution No. 13/2026, published in the Official Gazette on 27 January, this new technical and interministerial coordination structure will operate under the authority of the Government member responsible for the Environment sector.

“Its mission is to coordinate, supervise and support the implementation and operationalisation, at national level, of the EW4ALL initiative, ensuring universal access to multi-hazard, inclusive and actionable early warning systems,” the resolution states.

The Commission is coordinated by the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INMG) and includes representatives from the National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SNPCB), the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME), the Cabo Verde Red Cross and the National Secretariat for Climate Action.
