Porto Novo: Government to Proceed with Construction of the Justice Palace on the Site of the Former Municipal Guesthouse

Porto Novo, Jan 29 (Inforpress) – The Government will move forward with the construction of the Porto Novo Justice Palace, on the island of Santo Antão, to be built on the site currently occupied by the former Municipal Guesthouse, Inforpress has learned.

This assurance was given by Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva during his recent visit to Santo Antão, at the end of which he signed a cooperation protocol with the Porto Novo Municipal Council for the relocation of families currently living in the former municipal guesthouse.

The Head of Government stated that the relocation of the families ensures “dignified solutions and enables this important investment”, which will be implemented on this site made available by the Porto Novo Municipal Council to the Ministry of Justice.

The Justice Palace building, when the project was presented in September 2024, was budgeted at 90 thousand contos and was expected to be built during 2025.
