CAN/Futsal 2026: Ivan Ramos views qualifiers as a strategic opportunity for the sport in Cabo Verde

Praia, Jan 21 (Inforpress) – The Vice-President of the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF) responsible for futsal, Ivan Ramos, stated today that Cabo Verde’s participation in the preliminary rounds of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in futsal represents a strategic opportunity to consolidate and project the sport on the continent.

Speaking at a press conference in Praia, Ivan Ramos stressed that the competition, which begins next Friday, the 23rd, with a match against Senegal, is not only an immediate sporting objective but also a decisive moment for the country’s structural development of futsal.

According to the official, the FCF intends to invest in the training of coaches, referees and administrators in all regions, in order to create a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of the sport.

The Vice-President also announced a mentoring project that will allow the integration of outstanding national coaches into the national team’s technical staff.
