Minister of State and National Defence Swears in New Armed Forces Commanders

Praia, Jan 09 (Inforpress) – The Minister of State and National Defence, Janine Lélis, swore in on Thursday, the 8th, the new commanders of the Coast Guard, Logistics and Personnel of the Cape VerdeanArmed Forces.

According to a statement published on the Government’s official page, the ceremony formalized the appointments of Navy Captain Carina Baptista as Commander of Logistics, Navy Captain Kahbi Baptista as Commander of the Coast Guard, and Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Dias as Commander of Personnel.

In her address, Janine Lélis stressed that the positions now assumed “are of great relevance and value to the Armed Forces and to National Defence,” highlighting the high level of responsibility placed upon the new commanders “to lead, inspire, unite and turn challenges into achievements.”

The minister described the moment as one of “continuity of the work” already underway and expressed her expectation of proactivity in the performance of the duties now entrusted to the appointees.
