Church of the Nazarene Seeks to Cooperate with Government to Address People’s Mindset

Praia City, Dec 30 (Inforpress) – The superintendent of the Southern District of the Church of the Nazarene stated today that the Church wants to cooperate with the Government to work on people’s mindset in order to combat social problems.

Gastão Correia made this statement to the press while commenting on the meeting he held this morning with Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, as part of year-end audiences with different religious groups focused on promoting values of peace, solidarity, social cohesion, and mutual respect.

“With the Prime Minister, I spoke about the problems we have been seeing every day, such as juvenile delinquency and the need to combat alcoholism and other drugs, working together to reduce them,” he said, emphasizing the need to address the spiritual dimension by listening to people.

Gastão Correia, who was received by the Prime Minister, stressed that he appealed to the Government to continue to count on Churches to work together on changing people’s mindset, but especially on working with children and adolescents for a “better future.”
