Espaço Diáspora strengthens institutional ties between Cabo Verde and emigrant communities

Praia, Dec 24 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Communities inaugurated this Tuesday in Praia the Espaço Diáspora (Diaspora Centre), a welcoming space created to facilitate services, promote interaction and strengthen institutional relations with Cape Verdeans living abroad.

According to the Director-General of Communities, Martinho Ramos, the space, located in Prainha, responds to the need to offer the diaspora a dignified and functional physical location, reinforcing feelings of closeness and belonging whenever emigrants are in Cabo Verde.

Martinho Ramos also highlighted that Espaço Diáspora operates in coordination with the Digital Consular Portal, serving as a face-to-face complement to online services, with the shared goal of reducing distances and improving service quality.

In turn, Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, in his remarks, framed the initiative within the Government’s commitment to placing the diaspora at the center of public policies, ensuring accessible, efficient and secure services.
