Boa Vista: Government Guarantees Funding for New Training Field Starting January

Sal Rei, Dec 19 (Inforpress) – The Government announced its willingness to finance the construction of a new training field on the island of Boa Vista starting in January 2026, according to the Minister Adjunct to the Prime Minister for Youth and Sports.

Carlos Monteiro made the statement on Thursday night, the 18th, during the closing ceremony of the Cape Verdean Youth Capital City (CCCJ) 2025 initiative, in response to demands presented by the Mayor of Boa Vista, Cláudio Mendonça, who outlined shortcomings in the island’s sports infrastructure.

The minister stated that if the infrastructure is a priority for the municipality, the Government is in a position to proceed with the signing of a program contract at the beginning of next year.

“If it is a priority for the City Council, we will be in a position as of January to sign a program contract related to the training field,” he said.
