Praia, Dec 19 (Inforpress) – ICCA held today, in the city of Praia, a Solidarity Christmas celebration, bringing together more than 100 children in institutional care, with the aim of promoting affection, inclusion, well-being, and strengthening protection and family spirit.
The event took place at Espaço L, in Tira Chapéu, Praia, as part of an initiative promoted by the Cape Verdean Institute for Children and Adolescents (ICCA), through the Santiago South Delegation, within the framework of Christmas activities.
According to ICCA President Zaida Freitas, this is “a particularly sensitive time” for children in institutional care, emphasizing that the goal is to create an environment of sharing, affection, and security.
“Ideally, all children would be with their families, but unfortunately not all can. ICCA does not replace the biological family, but seeks to act as a second family, offering love, care, and protection,” she stated.
