Santa Cruz: ADR Visits Agricultural Land Restoration Works and Warns Against Practices That Damage Riverbeds

Santa Cruz, Dec 11 (Inforpress) – The president of Água de Rega (ADR), Ângela Moreno, visited today in Santa Cruz the restoration works on agricultural land affected by the November rains and warned against behaviours that worsen damage in riverbeds.

She explained that the damage affects 23 riverbeds and several waterways running through Tarrafal, Santa Catarina, São Miguel and Santa Cruz — the latter with around eight affected riverbeds.

“We are on the ground restoring infrastructure, reopening agricultural accesses and reinstating working conditions so that farmers can resume their activities,” she stated.

Moreno added that teams were deployed immediately after the rains to visit farmers and landowners in order to assess losses and mitigate impacts.
