Santa Catarina marks 191 years focusing on structural challenges and solutions to accelerate development

Assomada, 25 Nov (Inforpress) – The municipality of Santa Catarina celebrates its 191st anniversary today, marked by important achievements but also by challenges requiring structured responses.

Mayor Armindo Freitas underlined that the main objective of the current administration is to reposition the municipality as a “central, competitive territory capable of attracting new opportunities”.

According to the mayor, restoring Santa Catarina’s economic and social leadership requires addressing long-standing issues, particularly in the area of urban redevelopment.

Many streets and roads remain unpaved, a situation that has led the municipality to launch a broad urban and environmental redevelopment programme, which has already resulted in the inauguration of several projects in recent days. The plan will continue in 2025, with increased investment foreseen in the municipal budget.
