Fogo: São Filipe Hosts Ninth Stop of the Second Edition of Cabo Verde’s Grand Book Fair

São Filipe, 21 Nov (Inforpress) – The city of São Filipe is hosting the ninth stop of the second edition of the Cape Verde Grand Book Fair at Casa das Bandeiras, with the opening ceremony presided over by mayor Nuías Silva.

The book fair, resumed in 2024 by the Ministry of Culture through the National Library Institute, continues to expand across the country and this year includes three additional municipalities that were not part of the original circuit.

During the opening session in São Filipe, which takes place after Mosteiros, the mayor, Nuías Silva, celebrated the return of the event to the city, highlighting its cultural impact.

“The book fair is an invitation to reconnect with reading habits and to discover new authors. São Filipe rhymes with culture, and we need to restore these values,” the mayor declared.
