Football: FCF considers Bubista’s Coach of the Year title a “major achievement” for Cabo Verde

City of Praia, 20 Nov (Inforpress) – The president of the Cabo Verdean Football Federation (FCF) stated today that the CAF 2025 Coach of the Year award granted to Pedro Brito “Bubista” is “a major achievement” for the national team coach and for Cabo Verdean football as a whole.

Mário Semedo said the distinction reflects recognition of Bubista’s “excellent work” leading the technical team of the “Blue Sharks,” Cabo Verde’s national team, which secured its historic first qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

He emphasized that this is another “great day for national football” following Cabo Verde’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

The federation president added that the award also represents recognition of Cabo Verdean coaches, as well as the resilience and patience demonstrated by the federation, technical staff and players, all of whom contributed to this significant accomplishment.
