Ribeira Brava, Nov 18 (Inforpress) – The President of the National Assembly, Austelino Correia, today highlighted São Nicolau’s agricultural and cultural potential and called on the Government to “continue efforts” to resolve the transport issues affecting the island.
Speaking to the press after visiting the localities of Fragata, Ribeira Prata and Praia Branca, in the municipality of Tarrafal, Correia emphasized “the great agricultural potential” of these areas, which, according to him, if well harnessed, “could be transformed into economic potential”.
“First and foremost, the issue of opening access is fundamental to transforming local resources into economic resources that can serve not only the locality and families, but also all of São Nicolau and all of Cabo Verde,” he stressed.
On the other hand, Austelino Correia acknowledged the island’s mobility challenges and took the opportunity to encourage the Government to continue working toward solving São Nicolau’s transport problems.
