Praia, 03 Nov (Inforpress) – The Chair of the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), Ana Samira Baessa, today highlighted the importance of training dedicated to inventorying and digitising collections, with the aim of strengthening national technical capacity in the management and preservation of cultural heritage.
The IPC, in partnership with Spanish Cooperation, is conducting, from today until Friday the 7th, in Praia, training in inventorying and digitising collections under the Acerca Programme – Capacity Building for Development in the Cultural Sector, involving professionals from several museum institutions.
In her speech at the opening ceremony, Samira Baessa stated that this is the fourth and final training financed by the Acerca Programme this year, marking “an important step in modernising and digitising the museum sector in Cabo Verde”.
“The Acerca Programme has been instrumental in strengthening the capacities of our national technical teams. Thanks to this training, we are introducing new methodologies and adopting practices already tested in other countries, which raises the quality of work carried out in our museums,” she added.
