Minister of Education guarantees full salary payment and retroactive payments to teachers

Praia, Oct 28 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Education announced today that the process of paying teachers' salaries and retroactive payments is nearing completion, acknowledging that there was a delay due to technical issues and updating the payment platform.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the delivery of teaching materials by the airline Easyjet to students at the Paz e Amor School, Amadeu Cruz explained that the payments include salaries backdated from January to September, as well as the salary for the month of October.

As the minister assured, some teachers have already begun to receive the updated amounts.

"Contrary to the expectations of unions and other stakeholders, we honored our commitments," he countered, assuring that the government is also fulfilling its commitments to Cape Verdean society.
