
Praia, Oct 20 (Inforpress) – The president of ADAD today called for Cabo Verde to join the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and advocated for greater coordination between the government, civil society and partners to strengthen the response to environmental and climate challenges.
Speaking to Inforpress after participating in the 6th World Conservation Congress, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the environmentalist lamented the Cape Verdean government's absence from the IUCN, stressing that the country "cannot continue to be left out of one of the world's most important platforms for nature conservation."

Januário Nascimento considered the participation of Cape Verdean organizations in the congress “positive,” bringing together more than 10,000 participants from governments, universities, indigenous peoples, and private entities to outline a 20-year strategic vision for nature conservation.
