São Vicente/Carnival: Board of Groups says ‘“there are no minimum conditions”' for holding the official parade (with audio)

Mindelo, 10 October (Inforpress) – The Board of Official Groups of the São Vicente Carnival announced today at a press conference that the minimum conditions for preparing the official parade in 2026 are not in place.

This information was advanced by the president of the Escola de Samba Tropical, David Leite, together with members of the direction of two groups Monte Sossego, Vindos do Oriente and Estrela do Mar.

The same guarantee that, despite the absence of other associations in the press conference, the decision is in perfect harmony and alignment with the Liga dos Grupos Oficiais do Carnaval de São Vicente (LIGOC-SV).

According to David Leite, “the groups are without limits, without structures, without organizational predictability and with accumulated divisions”, so that the conference is “a loud cry of warning to come and save the Carnival of São Vicente”.
