Santo Antão: Ponta do Sol celebrates today the day of the patron saint Nossa Senhora do Livramento

Ponta do Sol, 24 Sep (Inforpress) – Ponta do Sol celebrates today, 24th, the day of the patron saint, Nossa Senhora do Livramento, marked with a solemn mass, presided over by Father José Eduardo Afonso, in the local church, followed by a procession and auction of branches.

The mass in honor of the patron saint is the most memorable moment of the day, with the presence of many faithful residents and those from other places who take the opportunity to live their faith, fulfilling promises and renewing religious vows.

Since the beginning of the scheduled religious activities, confirmation has been held, a pilgrimage to the chapels of Nossa Senhora in the communities, visits to various pastoral members and parish movements, a mass with fishermen in the Lagedos area and a boat procession, confessions, mass in the civil prison and at the Senior Citizens' Day Center, an evening mass and a candlelight procession.

The parish priest of Nossa Senhora do Livramento, Rui Nobre, told Inforpress that religious activities in allusion to the patron saint's festivities are taking place with great hope and focus on the jubilee year.
