China donates medical and hospital equipment valued at 37 thousand euros to Dr. Agostinho Neto Hospital

Cidade da Praia, 19 September (Inforpress) – The Government of the People's Republic of China will donate a set of medical and hospital equipment to Dr Agostinho Neto Hospital this afternoon, valued at RMB 302,608.74 (€37,654), as part of its cooperation with Cabo Verde.

China intends with this action, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health, to strengthen its capacity to provide medical healthcare with these surgical instruments and medical consumables.

Furthermore, according to the source, within the scope of medical cooperation, every year, the Chinese Government donates medical equipment to the Government of Cabo Verde, specifically to the Dr. Agostinho Neto Hospital, and in the last 10 years it has donated medical equipment and materials to the Cape Verdean side worth a cumulative value of more than 56 million escudos. 

"In the health sector, this cooperation has been materialized through the development of several projects, from the construction and equipment of health infrastructure, training of health human resources, donation of medical equipment, medical missions, and the arrival of Chinese medical teams, which have supported and supported health care in Cape Verde for 41 years with missions every two years," the document adds.
