Cidade da Praia, 1 September (Inforpress) – The Civil Aviation Agency (AAC) has carried out preliminary inspections on two TACV aircraft and is analysing whether there were maintenance and compliance failures in order to take appropriate action, the institution's CEO said today.

The chairman of the AAC board of directors, Mário Margarito Gomes, also claimed, when pressed by journalists, that the AAC is working to obtain concrete information about operational incidents during domestic flights with two ATRs, which were connecting São Filipe - Praia and São Vicente - Santiago on Sunday.

Both aircraft landed safely at Nelson Mandela International Airport in Praia, and all passengers were disembarked in accordance with safety regulations.

‘We are investigating the causes and taking measures to prevent them from happening again. Civil aviation operates in this cycle of safety growth. If there are anomalies, they are investigated and additional safety measures are implemented,’ he said.
