The National Monument to Freedom and Democracy will cost 150 million escudos

Praia, July 31 (Inforpress) - The National Monument to Freedom and Democracy, to be installed at the Achada Grande Frente roundabout in Praia, is valued at 150 million escudos and will be completed in just over six months, the Government announced.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructures and Territorial Planning, the project, financed through a public-private partnership, is being managed and supervised by the company Estradas de Cabo Verde and is expected to take 200 days to complete.

Construction is being undertaken by the company Tecnovia, which must meet the deadline for delivery of the sculpture that symbolizes the national flag in undulating metal pieces, with special lighting that enhances the work both during the day and at night.

In addition to its symbolic aspect, the monument, which is considered strategic for the cultural and urban development of the capital, is part of a strategy to requalify the road infrastructure and seeks to boost the socioeconomic dynamics of the region.
