Praia, Jul 3 (Inforpress) - The president of the Cabo Verde Red Cross (CVCV) said today that the organisation has had ‘very tangible’ results in the defence of social causes and humanitarian efforts in the country over the 50 years of its existence

Arlindo Carvalho, who was speaking in an interview with Inforpress about the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the institution's foundation, which will take place on the 19th of this month, explained that there was a ‘very positive’ strategic vision of the CVCV for the country in various areas, taking into account the nature of the institution and the humanitarian dimension of the organisation throughout this time.

Carvalho made an ‘extremely positive’ assessment of the Red Cross's interventions during its 50 years of existence, emphasising that, despite many gains, the issue of sustainability is still a ‘very delicate’ subject for the CVCV and also for the international policy of the Red Cross Federation.

"Based on a very well thought-out strategy, the CVCV has been mobilising its resources within the framework of humanitarian diplomacy, in particular through the use of social games and with national and international partners and other organisations”, said
