Praia, Jun 13 (Inforpress) - The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries today praised the ‘high level’ of Tabanca de Achada Santo António, in the city of Praia, and expressed ‘total openness’ to supporting tabanca groups in Cabo Verde.
Augusto Veiga was speaking to the press as he took part in the Santo António festivities in Rua da Tabanca, the highlight of which took place this Friday morning, with the theft of the saint and a procession and mass from 17:30.
When confronted with Gracindo Vieira's statements who is king of Tabanta saying that the groups need more support to boost this cultural event, the minister assured that the government has been working with all the Tabanca groups at national level.
"Here in Achada Santo António the group has reached a very high level, the community has worked very well. And we've come here to show that we're completely open to receiving projects linked to tabanca so that we can continue to support them," he said.
