Between the traditional and the algorithm: The challenges of Cape Verdean journalism in the digital era

Praia, 09 Jun (Inforpress) - Cape Verdean journalists face a dilemma between preserving the essence of traditional journalism and adapting to the demands of the digital ecosystem in the face of advances in technology and artificial intelligence.

Cape Verdean journalism, which is heir to a practice of rigour, careful investigation and the search for truth, is under pressure to respond to the demands of an increasingly digital and fast-moving information ecosystem.

The transition, however, has not been the same for everyone, while the tools are multiplying, newsrooms and professionals are trying to adapt without losing the soul of the craft.

José Carlos Semedo knows this dilemma well. He has dedicated almost 40 years to Cape Verdean television, witnessing every stage of the technological metamorphosis.
