São Filipe, 09 Jun (Inforpress) - The process of dismantling the ship Deimos, which ran aground more than four years ago near the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros, will be completed by the end of June, the Maritime Port Institute (IMP) has predicted.
In a statement published on its official website, the IMP emphasises that the process of dismantling and removing the wreckage of the ship Deimos is entering its final stage and that with the conclusion of the work and the total removal of the ship's wreckage scheduled for the end of this month, the process will be finalised.
As a result, the technical team from the specialised company that is carrying out the work will deliver the final report to the IMP for analysis, validation and signing of the closure agreement for the process of dismantling the Deimos, which has been stranded near the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros since 13 November 2020.
The work of dismantling and removing the wreckage began in October 2024, was suspended in December 2024 and resumed at the end of April this year.
